Formed in the late 1970’s by the then Minster Organist, Philip Tordoff, the Friends of Music was created to support all things musical in the Minster with a particular focus on the choirs and the organs.

Today it has around 20 members, some of whom are members of the congregation, others are local people who take a keen interest in the music and some, possibly former choristers, may have even moved away but still like to keep in touch.  A small committee meets termly to discuss the development of the music and its needs.
