“This was a magnificent concert and a testament of Ian Sutcliffe’s inspirational directorship and inspired, rhythmically potent conducting. An event of the highest quality and most fitting for Ely Cathedral and the time of year.”
Assistant Director of Music & Organist - Graham Gribbin
Graham’s love of choral music began when he joined the Choir of Bradford Cathedral as a young Chorister.
Whilst Head Chorister he began organ lessons with the Organist and Master of the Choristers, Keith Rhodes.
During this time, he gained valuable experience in accompanying services; something he has continued doing in local churches for the past 30 years.
Prior to being appointed Sub Organist at the Minster, Graham was Director of Music at St. Martin’s Church, Heaton, Bradford.
He became Director of Music at the Minster in September 2019, but following the recent restructuring of the Music Department and given that he combines a busy performance schedule with the running of a successful piano service and retail business, GSG Pianos Yorkshire, Graham is happy to provide a supportive role as Assistant Director of Music and Organist.
He will continue to take charge of the outstanding Organ Recital Series Thursdays @ One which he has built up over the last four years and which now features eminent organists with an international reputation.
