Child Education

Halifax Minster has a varied education programme led by our Education Officer and supported by Minster Volunteers. We recognise that education beyond the classroom is important and aim to meet your curriculum needs. You are invited to explore, experience, and learn by taking part in workshops that celebrate our magnificent 12th Century church. Workshop titles provide a guide; we can work with you to make your visit best suit your group.

We also encourage self directed visits which can also be supported by the Education Team. If you would like more information or would like to book a visit, contact Alison Field or call 01422 355436.

Workshops last 1½ – 2hrs and cost £3 per child with a minimum charge of £60. Self led tours £20. To download our brochure click HERE!

The Minster is also suitable for use by school groups for concerts, assemblies, prizegiving/graduations, carol services and to visit the Christmas Tree Festival. Exhibitions of student work can also be displayed. In the 2021-2 school year, we hosted over 18 different events for a number of schools and colleges.

We welcome children to our services. During term time, children’s groups take place during our Sunday morning Sung Eucharist service.
